Job Type Options - Overview

CIMS allows the classification of Jobs by type. Different Job Types can be associated with various system generated parameters and variables. For example the each Job Type can determine the contract "Terms & Conditions" printed on estimates.

 

Editorial Jobs and Page Rate

In default CIMS installations Editorial Job are associated with a Page Rate. Entering the number of pages in a job allows CIMS to calculate the payments due.

 

Creating Job Types

To create a new Job Type do the following

1. From the main ring menu select "Manage The System"

2. Select Job Type Options

3.In the New Job Type field enter the name of the new Job Type and select the "New Job Type" button

4. Find the Job Type created and enter a code. The code determines the order in which the job types appear in the drop down pick list. It is a good idea to leave gaps in the numbers to allow for future additions. Intervals of 10 are a good idea to start with

5. Select the "Update Job Type Options" to save changes

 

Edit Job Types

To edit a Job Type do the following

1. From the main ring menu select "Manage The System"

2. Select Job Type Options

3. Find the Job Type to be edited

4. Make the required changes

5. Select the "Update" button to save changes

 

Deleting Job Types

Job Types can only be deleted if not in use. Job Types that are in use will have the words "In Use" in the right hand column

To delete a Job Type do the following

1. From the main ring menu select "Manage The System"

2. Select Job Type Options

3. Find the required Job Type

4. Place a tick in the delete box

5. Select the "Update" button to delete the record
