Artists
In CIMS Artist are those that deliver the projects or contracts. In larger installations Artist are managed by Producers. The producers arrange jobs on behalf of the artists and typically charge the artist a commission.
As with Producers, the Artists are treated as a separate entity in CIMS but each Artist is linked to a Contact in the contacts database
The type of installation you have will determine the fields that appear in the Artists table. Where you have the complex billing option or where CIMS is outputting information for your finance / accounts packages, most or all the fields below will appear and be relevant
In CIMS Artist have the following attributes:
1. Make sure the Artist company exists in the Contacts Database. If it doesn't create it - see Creating Companies
2. Make sure the Artist exists as a Person in the Contacts Database. If not create him or her - see Creating Persons
3. From the main ring menu select "View Listings"
4. Select "Artists"
5. Fill in the fields - see descriptions above.
6. Select the "Save Artist Details" to make changes

3. Select the "Edit" icon next to the Artist to be edited
4. Make the appropriate changes
5. Select the "Save Artist Details" button to apply the changes
In CIMS Artists are not deleted but rather retired. Retired Artists do not appear in the drop down list of Artist available for selection when creating jobs. To retire an Artist do the following:
1. From the main ring menu select "View Listings"
2. Select "Artists"
3. Select the "Edit" icon next to the Artist to be edited
4. Place a check / tick in the "retired" field
5. Select the "Save Artist Details" button to apply the changes
