System Configuration - Fee Types
In creating jobs, CIMS records details of Fees and Expenses. The system is designed to be pre-configured with all Fees types and all Expense types that you or your artist will incur so that creating or editing jobs becomes just a matter of choosing these from a pick list and entering the amount.
There are 3 types of Fee type in CIMS. All of these have the same structure but serve different purposes
Fees or Ordinary Fees: These have no. of days, daily rate, start date, end date
Additional Fees: These are fees for usage over and above that agreed. They are the same as ordinary fees but appear as a separate line item
Optional Fees: This is where clients take out an option for future usage. The details of Optional Fees are displayed on estimates but the figures are excluded from the calculations of the current job. CIMS has a clone feature which allows new "optional fee" jobs to be created at the press of a button.
When a job is cloned in "Optional Fee" mode, the new job inherits the job details and description of the original, but the "optional Fee amount" is used for the fee. This can be added to or edited or changed.
To create a new fee type do the following
1. From the main ring menu select "Manage The System"
2. Select "Fee Type Options"
3. In the New Fee Type field enter the name of the new field
4. Enter the sequence number. This is the sequence in which the fields should be listed in the drop down field. Its a good idea to leave gaps between the sequence fields so addition Fees can be inserted should the need arise
5. Select the "Update" button to save the changes
To edit the name or sequence of a Fee type do the following:
1. From the main ring menu select "Manage The System"
2. Select "Fee Type Options"

Fees that are in use cannot be deleted. If a field is not in use the delete button will appear adjacent to the name
